Product Description

This Beautiful Canoe Model "B077" Is Presented By Old Modern Handicrafts. Canoes have been around for centuries dating back to the Native people in North America. Have this magnificent model display beautifully as a home or office decor. Master craftsmen handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch using historical photographs, drawings and original plan. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as: western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. This replica of the Canadian canoe shares the same construction method as a full size one using strip built. The hull is artistically constructed with an array of different wood colors. The inside hull is then fiberglass for realistic look. There are two rattan seats in the front and in the back. It comes with a set of canoe paddle and a wooden display stand.

  • Cedar-strip canoe hull fabrication in process Strip-built is a method of boat building commonly used for canoes and kayaks, but also suitable for larger boats. The process involves securing narrow, flexible strips of wood edge-to-edge around temporary forms. The strips are typically secured to each other with glue or nails. The roughly covered hull is then smoothed and reinforced with fiberglass before removing it from the forms. The inside is then smoothed and similarly reinforced.
